A mobile Bureau of Motor Vehicles branch will visit Gary on Monday, the last day for voters to register for Indiana's May 6 presidential primary.
The state's BMV2You mobile branch will be parked and open for business from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Commons, at 4517 W. 5th Ave. Indiana residents can register to vote and free identification cards for voting purposes can be obtained at the mobile branch.
The BMV mobile branch is coming to Gary to provide services between the closure of Gary's limited-service BMV branch, which closed Friday, and the opening of a new full-service branch on Wednesday.
The mobile branch will also be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, at 661 S. Broadway, and from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, at the same location.
At 9:30 a.m., at the same location, BMV Commissioner Ron Stiver will cut the ribbon to officially open the new full-service branch.
