Valpo firm opening offices in Florida

Golden Technologies, a Valparaiso-based information technology firm, is opening an office in Naples, Fla., the company announced Monday.

The new location will allow Golden Technologies to offer the latest in disaster recovery technologies to Southwest Florida, including off-site data backup and hosting services, Senior Partner Greg Scasny said.

The company's data center is located on Beech Street in Valparaiso. It also has an office in South Bend. The company currently employs 50 and will be adding positions in Florida, Scasny said.

"Our job is to make IT easy for our clients," Scasny said. "They shouldn't have to worry about anything technology-related as we handle it all for them."

Golden Technologies was founded in 1999 by Scasny and Stephen Massa, both former Bethlehem Steel employees.

The application deadline is Dec. 5.
