An event for business owners will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 16 at the Chicago Ford Assembly Plant, 126th Street and Torrence Avenue in Chicago’s Hegewisch neighborhood.

This free half-day event is aimed to connect minority and women business owners, major rail suppliers, prime construction, design and engineering firms and rail industry contract and procurement executives.

CREATE, a partnership between U.S. Department of Transportation, the state of Illinois, city of Chicago, Metra, Amtrak and the nation's freight railroads, is organizing the event.
