EAST CHICAGO | Catholic Charities, in partnership with Bank On Northwest Indiana, is offering a series of four workshops on financial literacy, beginning Friday and open to anyone interested in improving financial literacy skills.

The Workshops will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at 3901 Fir Street, East Chicago, on the following days:

  • Friday - Bank On It: The benefits of have a checking/savings account.
  • Nov. 9 -To Your Credit: How your credit history will affect your credit future;
  • Dec. 14 - Money Matters: How to keep track of your money;
  • Jan. 11 - Identity Theft: What you need to know to protect your identity.

Financial literacy classes will be taught by trained bank personnel and Catholic Charities’ staff will facilitate the process.

At the end of each workshop a $25 gift card will be raffled among class attendees. Contact Catholic Charities to sign up at (219) 397-5803.
