Uncertainty about the economy cast a shadow over the entertainment sector in recent years, making activities including forecasting revenue projections for shows very difficult, Charles Blum said.
At one point, Blum said only the priciest seats for concerts he organized would sell out. But it appears the economy is in the position where people are more willing to use disposable income to pay for acts such as The Monkees.
Venue operators have also had to find creative ways to increase revenue and make sure to convince people why they should be repeat visitors of an establishment.
"I have to create value for the customer," Blum said. "it has to be the total experience."
Blum said venue operators have to ensure their establishments are pleasing to customers. The Star Plaza Theatre has completed some renovations and is planning to do more.
