MICHIGAN CITY | Horizon Bancorp named a new chairman to replace Robert Dabagia who is retiring June 30, officials said.
Craig Dwight, the company's chief executive officer and director, was named last week the new chairman and chief executive officer, according to a news release from the company.
He was also the chairman and the chief executive officer of Horizon Bank NA, which is a subsidiary of Horizon Bancorp.
Dabagia has worked as the chairman since 1998, according to the release. He also worked as the director of the company since 1986.
The bank also created the position of lead director, which will communicate with several tiers of the company including the independent directors, board members and senior management, according to the release.
The board appointed Daniel Hopp to the position. Hopp will start working as lead director July 1, and will focus on corporate policy, strategy and executive management performance.
The company will name Dabagia chairman emeritus after he retires.
Horizon Bancorp has 30 locations in Northwest Indiana, central Indiana and Michigan, according to the company's website.
