Paying employees and tracking hours might sound easy enough, but there are a number of federal and states laws that companies must adhere to in order to stay in compliance and avoid costly fines and lawsuits.

To assist Hoosier companies, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Indiana Wage and Hour Law Seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. July 24 at the Indiana Chamber Conference Center in downtown Indianapolis

Tthe seminar will cover a range of wage- and hour-related topics, including the employee versus independent contractor classifications, preventing off-the-clock claims, equal pay and child labor laws, coverage and exemptions, calculation of overtime, vacation pay and more.

Lunch is provided and cost is $299 for Indiana Chamber members and $329 for non-members. Group discounts are available. The seminar is good for one credit toward the completion of the Human Resource Specialist Certificate and HRCI credit is pending.
