Elkhart-based Damon Motor Coach's DayBreak gas model was the best-selling Class A motorhome in Canada in 2007, according to Statistical Surveys Inc. The company's Tuscany series was Canada's third best seller overall and tops in sales of diesel models.
Cambria Suites opens first Indiana site
Choice Hotels International Inc. has opened its Cambria Suites Indianapolis Airport. The 103-suite hotel is the first Cambria Suites location in Indiana and the seventh location nationwide. The Indianapolis location includes a casual dining area, a fitness center and a 24-hour convenience store.
Evansville Airport hires marketing director
The Evansville-Vanderburgh Airport Authority District has hired a new marketing director for the Evansville Regional Airport. Our partners at the Evansville Courier & Press report that Dianna Kissel will succeed Nelson Bailes, who has retired after 10 years in the position. Kissel previously worked as regional director of sales for Dunn Hospitality Group.
JASI to celebrate 20th anniversary
The Japan-America Society of Indiana will mark its 20th anniversary with a gala event Thursday at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis. Guests will include Japan's Ambassador to the United Nations, His Excellency Yukio Takasu, who will speak about the evolving role of Japan and impending changes in the critical Japan-U.S. relationship. The event will also recognize Japanese companies in Indiana.
Vincennes school to net technology grant
A Vincennes Community School Corp. middle school is one of 110 K-12 public schools in the nation to receive a 2008 HP Technology for Teaching grant. George Rogers Clark Middle School will receive an award package worth more than $38,000 to support innovative and effective uses of technology in classroom settings. The program will allow students to rediscover mathematics by using tablet computer technology in their daily lessons.
