GARY | The Indiana University Northwest Office of Diversity Programming will host “Shattering the Silences,” a public forum held twice a year on campus to address topics, issues and concerns relative to diversity and inclusion.
At 5 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Bruce W. Bergland Auditorium, located in Savannah Center, the topic for discussion will be public transportation in Northwest Indiana.
A panel, including Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson, will discuss history of public transportation in this area, current resources and plans for the future. Additional panel members will consist of an IUN student, representatives from the Regional Bus Authority and the Regional Transportation Authority, and a local advocacy group for the disabled, Everybody Counts.
Following the forum, panelists will take questions from the audience. This event is open to the public.
