HAMMOND | The Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner on Saturday will honor businesses in East Chicago and Hammond as well as  teachers, firefighters, EMTs and police officers from both communities.

The 2013 business winners include

Economic Development-East Chicago: Ameristar East Chicago Casino Hotel, Safety-Kleen Systems, The Community Builders; Hammond: Huhtamaki, Inc., PotashCorp, Quad Plus, LLC, Pyramid Development, First Financial Bank.

Longevity Awards: Ambitech Engineering Corporation, BMO Harris Bank, Campagna Academy , Comprehensive Care Occupational Medicine, Eichhorn & Eichhorn, LLP, First Financial Bank, Franciscan St. Margaret Health, Hammond Education Foundation, Hammond Machine Works, Haven House, Horizon Bank, Ivy Tech Community College, Lakeshore Public Television & Radio, St. Catherine Hospital, Transportation Support Group, Inc., VIA Marketing, Inc.

The Civil Service Winners include:

East Chicago: Capt. Brandon K. Carpenter, Det. Maurice Phillips Sr., and teacher Christine L. Gesiakowski.

Hammond: EMT-2 Bryan K. Bean, Private Christopher Ondas, Patrolman Ryan A. Orr, teacher Tracy Mis, and teacher Gladys Ullstam.
