MUNSTER | Lee Enterprises Inc., the parent company of The Times Media Co., has promoted Times Director of Audience Development Brett Riley to do that job for the corporation.

Suzanna Frank, Lee vice president of audience, said Riley will be based at the corporate headquarters in Davenport and will have responsibility for developing companywide resources and programs to grow Lee's digital and print audiences and subscription revenues.

"Brett brings the right combination of abilities in all of the many aspects of print circulation, as well as experience in growing digital audiences, and we're delighted he is joining our corporate team," she said. "Our research has consistently demonstrated that Lee markets have huge and stable audiences across our many print and digital news platforms, and we continue to keep audience a top priority for the company."

Riley, 40, joined Lee in 2004 as circulation sales and marketing manager at The Courier in Waterloo, Iowa.

"My family and I will never forget the six great years we spent in Northwest Indiana and at The Times, but are definitely looking forward to this new opportunity and being back in Iowa," Riley said.

In 2004, he advanced to the same responsibilities in Northwest Indiana, where he was promoted to director of circulation in 2007 and then to director of audience development in 2010. In 2011, The Times' BusINess magazine of named him to its 20 Under 40 list of achievers. He and his wife, Andrea, have three children.

Lee owns 47 daily newspapers, including the St. Louis Post Dispatch, and has a joint interest in four others.
