Logistics education company to give talk at Purdue Northwest

Purdue University Northwest's Commercialization and Manufacturing Excellence Center at 7150 Indianapolis Blvd. in Hammond. Alpha 1 Logistics will give a talk there Jan. 10.

After a three-week hiatus over the holidays, the 1 Million Cups talks intended to inspire and connect local entrepreneurs returns to Purdue University Northwest on Jan. 10.

Dan Jones from Alpha 1 Logistics will give a free presentation to the public at 9 a.m. in room 115 at the Commercialization and Manufacturing Excellent Center at 7150 Indianapolis Blvd. in Hammond. Alpha 1 provides educational products for logistics professionals, including brokers, carriers and CDL drivers.

The Northwest Indiana-based company assists truck drivers obtain and maintain the commercial licenses, and keep up with the latest Department of Transportation regulations and safety best practices.

The talk is part of a weekly series every Wednesday morning at CMEC, where entrepreneurs can learn and network. Recent speakers have included the Impact Club Tri Town and D and K Kinetics. The Kaufman Foundation helps organize 1 Million Cups meetups nationally to "caffeinate an entrepreneurial nation" with "a free program designed to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs with their communities."
