RIVERDALE | Manufacturers who got stuck with big power bills this winter can learn how to manage their energy costs at an upcoming talk.

Representatives from the National Manufacturing Energy Cooperative will tell companies how they can minimize market risk against price volatility at a Calumet Area Industrial Commission lunch and learn event Wednesday. The talk will take place at 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at ArcelorMittal, 13500 S. Perry Avenue, Riverdale.

Chief financial officers, chief operating officers or anyone who manages a company's utility expenses can learn about an opportunity to join NMEC's professionally managed energy risk management program. Representatives will discuss the current state of the energy markets and how to manage market volatility. 

The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members, and includes lunch. Anyone who is interested can register online at
