SOUTH HOLLAND | A Microsoft executive will outline the future of technology in manufacturing at an upcoming luncheon.

Adam Hecktman, Microsoft's director of technology and civic engagement, will explain buzzwords like big data, the internet of things, social networks, and natural use interface. He will go over how they will show up in manufacturing at a Calumet Area Industrial Commission luncheon at 11:30 a.m. May 13. 

The event runs through 1:30 p.m., and will take place at Seton Academy, 16100 Seton Drive, South Holland. 

Hecktman, who runs Microsoft's technology center in the Aon Center skyscraper in the Loop, plans to present a vision for how mega trends will come together, and where they will go from here.

The price is $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
