SOUTH HOLLAND | More than 1,500 people attended the inaugural Second Congressional District Job Fair on Friday, hosted by U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly at South Suburban College.

More than 50 employers are on hand to interview job-seekers for a variety of positions in an array of industries, including banking, healthcare, retail, government and transportation. Participating employers included BMO Harris Bank, Metra, Prudential, CSX Railroads and Comcast.

“Today’s turnout demonstrates the critical need for jobs in the community. There are many, many hardworking men and women in my district who just need a shot at employment. The job fair is that shot – a chance for them to get in front of hiring managers who are looking to fill positions immediately,” Kelly said in a statement.
