GARY | Gov. Mike Pence will speak about jobs in Northwest Indiana Feb. 8 when he addresses the Gary Chamber of Commerce.
The event will be in the Indiana Hall of the Genesis Convention Center, 1 Genesis Center Plaza. A networking reception is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by Pence's address until noon.

Gov. Pence on Friday made his first major job creation announcement in the region since taking office.
He joined officials from medical billing company Horizon Financial Management LLC as they described how they will invest nearly $2 million in a facility at the AmeriPlex at the Crossroads complex in Merrillville, creating up to 216 jobs by 2016.
At the announcement, Pence said he is committed to finding more ways to support new and growing businesses in Indiana, while touting the state's business-friendly climate.
