Ericka McCauley has joined Lakeshore Public Television and 89.1 FM, The Lakeshore in Merrillville as public relations coordinator.

Horizon Bank has honored advisers Mike Sarver and Mary Wright with the bank’s Burton B. Ruby Community Service Award for 2013. Sarver is assistant Vvice president and business banker - Portage. Wright is assistant vice president and business banker for Merrillville.

Thomas Ross has been named Vice President and Commercial Middle Market Team Leader for Fifth Third Bank’s Northern Indiana market.

Jay Brehm has been appointed senior vice president of Strategic Planning and Business Development for Franciscan Alliance.

Kevin Daniel Johnston has been named Teacher of The Year at Del Valle Middle School in Austin, Texas. Johnston is a graduate of Lake Central High School.

Kristin Henry, of Homewood, was promoted to business banking relationship manager at PNC Bank.

Franchise owners Kevin Hutnick, from Once Upon A Child of Valparaiso, and Kimberly Crnarich, from Once Upon A Child of Schererville, recently attended the franchisor's Annual Conference and Trade Show in Clearwater Beach, Fla. 

Verizon Wireless has named Merrillville resident Eric Mayo, retail sales representative in Merrillville, and Crete resident Philip Cole, retail sales manager in Matteson, to the company’s prestigious President’s Cabinet.

Matt Norby was promoted to store manager of the Winfield Levin Tire store in January of this year, taking over for Chip LaRock. LaRock has since taken over the store manager position at Levin Tire’s Highland location.
