SCHERERVILLE: The director of a Purdue University program providing technical assistance to Hoosier companies, health care providers and governments will be the keynote speaker at the noon March 14 meeting of the Lake County Advancement Committee at Teibel's Restaurant.

Keynote speaker David McKinnis joined the Purdue University Technical Assistance Program when it was founded in 1986 and became director in 2000. The program maintains nine offices in the state and serves more than 800 employers each year.

McKinnis worked with several manufacturing firms before joining the Purdue program. He earned a doctorate degree in industrial engineering from Purdue in 1999.
