The Northwest Indiana Quality of Life Council will honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the region's quality of life at the ninth annual Quality of Life Council Awards Luncheon, held jointly with the One Region/One Vision annual program.
Nominees need not be members of the Council. Individuals will be selected in three award categories: outstanding contribution, lifetime achievement and promise of the futre.
The Council would like nominations to focus on one or more conceptual foundation of sustainability: economic development, environmental quality and social acheivement.
Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Aug. 15. The awards are sceduled for Sept. 8 at The Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza, 800 E. 81st Ave., Merrillville.
