Rebound in commercial construction should life up steel industry

More than 300 employees of Urschel Laboratories Inc., dignitaries, and others gathered in July for a groundbreaking ceremony, photographs and pizza on the site of what will be the new manufacturing and global headquarters near Coffee Creek in Chesterton. Construction projects have been picking up in Northwest Indiana and the south suburbs but will need to rebound more nationally to strengthen the soft demand for steel.
