INDIANAPOLIS | A total of 100 Hoosier companies, including some with ties to the region, are being honored this year as a Best Place to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, which manages the statewide program.
The list released Tuesday includes Merrillville-based Centier Bank; Merrillville-based NIPSCO; Munster-based Peoples Bank SB; Edward Jones, which has multiple offices in the region; Horseshoe Casino in Hammond; Krieg DeVault LLP, which has an office in Schererville; The Skillman Corp., which has an office in Merrillville; and Spring Mill Health Campus in Merrillville, a Trilogy Health Services community.
The company rankings will be announced at an annual awards dinner May 2 at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis.
The top companies in the state are determined through employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys. Winners were selected from four categories: small companies of between 15 an 74 U.S. employees, medium-sized companies of between 75 and 249 U.S. employees, large companies consisting of 250 to 999 U.S. employees, and major companies with 1,000 or more U.S. employees. Out-of-state parent companies were eligible to participate if at least 15 full-time employees are in Indiana.
“We had an unprecedented number of applicants and worthy companies this year. The jump in honorees was so significant that it made sense to realign the categories now to better include an increasing number of companies going forward,” said Indiana Chamber President and CEO Kevin Brinegar in a statement. “The goal is to continue to grow the program and have more and more deserving Hoosier companies recognized for providing a productive, employee-friendly and successful work environment.”
The 2013 Best Places to Work in Indiana awards dinner is open to the public. Tickets and tables are available at www.indianachamber.com/specialevents.
