The Lake County Housing Taskforce is sponsoring an event in Munster on Oct. 25 to discuss how abandoned properties in Northwest Indiana communities can be converted to productive use.
The event is from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Centennial Park Clubhouse, 1005 S. Centennial Drive. Speakers expected include Andy Fraizer, executive director of the Indiana Association for Community Economic Development, Gina Radice, a consultant with the city of Indianapolis and James Kelly, professor at the University of Notre Dame Law School.
Formed in 2008, the goal of the Lake County Housing Taskforce is to identify and assess housing and financial concerns facing residents.
