Members of a Merrillville-based roofers union ratified a new four-year collective bargaining agreement with local roofing contractors earlier this week.
The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers Local 26 and the Northwest Indiana Roofing Contractors Association reached the agreement July 19. The agreement ended a more than six-week strike.
The agreement will be finalized once the union completes its review of the final contract terms.
Roofers Local 26 has more than 300 members.
