South Shore Clean Cities to host 2012 annual meeting
HOBART | Northern Indiana organizations that are promoting clean vehicle technologies and alternative fuels will be featured during the 2012 annual meeting of South Shore Clean Cities Inc. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 14 at Avalon Manor Banquet Center, 3550 E. U.S. 30.
South Shore Clean Cities Inc. officials have invited business owners, nonprofit organization leaders and community members to join them in speaking about the benefits of the program's success during the meeting. Mark Stoermann, project manager at Fair Oaks Farms, is scheduled to speak about a group of 10 Indiana dairy farms using biogas to power their milk trucks. Kelly Carmichael, director of environmental policy and permitting at the NIPSCO, is scheduled to speak on new project updates.
Officials at Legacy Environmental Services Inc., based in the Purdue Research Park of Northwest Indiana, lead South Shore Clean Cities, which is is a nonprofit organization sponsored through a U.S. Department of Energy program.
