HAMMOND | The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority and Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza were the 2012 recipients of the Supplier STAR Award for their Bring It Home Campaign reception.

The Supplier Awards are Awards of Excellence under $750,000 annual budget.

The Bring It Home Campaign reception took place to inform groups of the economic impact of hosting conferences and conventions in the area. In all, 22 professional members of associations and organizations with ambassador potential to bring their next meeting or event home to the South Shore area were invited to the reception.

Because of this reception, representatives are now more aware of their ability to endorse our area and be advocates for hosting their next event in their hometown. By forming these relationships with local members, the South Shore CVA and Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza were able to gain their support and work together to bring their meeting home.

The Bring It Home Campaign reception allowed for conferences and meetings to be booked along the South Shore of Lake Michigan in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2018.
