PORTAGE | 1st Source Bank reopened its Portage Central Banking Center after extensive renovations.

The 150-year-old South Bend-based financial institution overhauled the branch at 6043 Central Ave., replacing traditional teller walls with side-by-side banking that lets clients see exactly what the teller sees during the transaction. Other features include a children's play area and a customer convenience center that includes a fax machine, a shredder and two-internet connected computers.

"Clients have really enjoyed the changes and new conveniences at the banking center," said Jesús Cervera, banking center manager. "With side-by-side banking we're able to deliver the same great service in a more personal way."

1st Source manages assets of $4.65 billion and has more than 100 locations, mainly in northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan. The bank has a large retail presence in Porter and LaPorte counties.
