MICHIGAN CITY | The executive director of the Indiana Office of Tourism Development will be the guest speaker at the May 9 ROSE Awards luncheon for Porter and LaPorte counties at 11:30 a.m. May 9 at Blue Chip Casino.

Mark Newman will share his thoughts about how tourism strengthens the economy statewide and locally, and he will talk about some new tourism initiatives.

The luncheon is hosted by Indiana Dunes Tourism, which is the official tourism bureau of Porter County, and Visit Michigan City LaPorte Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Among the awards presented each year are best restaurant, best hotel, best retail store, best attraction and best service industry professional.

Tickets for the luncheon are $40 or $295 for a table of eight. Call Indiana Dunes Tourism at (219) 926-2255, ext 223.
