Gary-based energy company buys another power plant
A local energy company has bought its second power plant in as many months. Gary-based Sterling Energy Group, an independent producer of green energy, purchased a plant in Crawfordsville from Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power. The amount was not disclosed. The plant currently can generate 24.1 megawatts of electricity, but could support additional gas-fired power generation capacity. Sterling will look at installing clean coal technologies, and adding new combined cycle gas-fired capacity and a steam loop that would make it a combined heat and power facility.
