Want a new car?
How does a free car sound?
Times readers are in luck if they are interested in getting a new car with no down payment, zero percent interest and low, low monthly payments of nothing, nada, zilch. Northwest Indiana Chevrolet Dealers and The Times Media Co. are teaming up for the sixth year to give away a brand new car in the 2014 Win a Chevy Cruze Sweepstakes.
"Northwest Indiana Chevrolet Dealers are excited about this partnership with The Times," said Samantha Roper, owner of Smith Chevrolet dealerships in Hammond and Lowell. "This year, we're taking it to another level to make it even more user-friendly. People can enter by liking their dealer's Facebook page. The form to enter the data pops right up."
The lucky contest winner cruises off in a 2014 Chevy Cruze, a sporty compact that gets 36 mpg on the highway, comes with 10 standard airbags, and received a 5-Star overall vehicle score from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. Chevy is the No. 1-selling car brand in the greater Chicago area, and the Cruze is one of its most popular sedans, Roper said.
"In 2014, there a strong lineup, from smaller compacts to our trucks," Roper said. "Chevy has really embraced luxurious interiors, and no matter what trim level you get, you can't go wrong."
More than 15,000 people participated in last year's contest for the chance to win a free car. The giveaway began in 2008.
"We are very happy to be able to partner with Northwest Indiana Chevrolet Dealers to bring back this promotion for its sixth year," Times Media Co. Publisher Chris White said. "We know there's going to be a lot of excitement and I look forward to meeting the lucky winner."
This year's contest also will give away eight pairs of tickets to see the Chicago Blackhawks. Times readers can win covered United Center seats by clipping out an entry form in the newspaper and taking it to a Times office or any participating Chevrolet dealer.
Participating dealers include Arnell Chevrolet in Burns Habor, Christenson Chevrolet in Highland, Harbor Buick Chevrolet GMC in Michigan City, Mike Anderson Chevrolet in Merrillville, Smith Chevrolet in Hammond and Lowell, Team Chevrolet in Valparaiso and Wiers Chevrolet in DeMotte.
The contest starts today. Entry forms from the newspapers can be dropped off at any Times office or any participating Chevy dealership through 5 p.m. April 26.
There are also other ways to enter. People can "like" a participating dealership on Facebook, text "Cruze" to 411247 or enter online at www.nwi.com/cruze. No online entries are accepted for the Blackhawks ticket contest.
Contestants must be 18 years or older, and can only enter once. A prize drawing will take place May 1.
Full details on the contest are available online and in today's editions of the newspaper.
