MERRILLVILLE | Chick-fil-A, Inc., has selected two Crown Point residents, Asia Roundtree and Michelle Torres, as recipients of the chain’s $1,000 Leadership Scholarship. Roundtree and Torres were nominated by Tyler Carter, franchise Operator of the Chick-fil-A in Merrillville.

Roundtree and Torres have both worked at the Merrillville Chick-fil-A restaurant since its opening in October 2011. Roundtree is majoring in secretarial science at Hyles Anderson College in Crown Point and plans to graduate in December. Torres will complete her bachelor of science in graphic design and media management at Hyles Anderson in May.

“The program recognizes employees who demonstrate the leadership and character qualities to build a successful life, while offering tangible assistance to enrich their lives with education beyond high school,” Carter said. “Asia and Michelle have the potential to accomplish great things.”
