GARY | The Urban League of Northwest Indiana is hosting a foreclosure assistance event from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday in the Gary Lake Room at the Genesis Convention Center.
The event will offer free on-site counseling with HUD-certified counselors who are trained to help consumers apply for modications, refinance and unemployment programs.
Attendees should bring the following information: Most recent paystubs of income information, monthly household expenses, copy of last mortgage statement, correspondence from mortgage company, written explanation of difficulty, most recent filed income tax return and last two months of bank statements
