Village in Burns Harbor home The Gem earns green honor

BURNS HARBOR | Treasure Homes will be recognized at 4 p.m. Sept. 7 at 1168 Chesterfield Ave. for its green achievements for the home there.

U.S. Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-Ind., and Andy Place Sr., Indiana Builders Association president, will be among those honoring the home, named The Gem, within The Village in Burns Harbor.

The event is free. The Gem is one of only 22 homes within the U.S. to receive this certification and the first in Indiana. Tours of the home will be available.
