HOBART | The Northwest Indiana Workforce Board will host a workforce summit on March 20.

The event is set from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Avalon Manor, 3550 E. U.S. 30.

Attendees will hear about the region’s state of the workforce and will receive a copy of the recently published Northwest Indiana State of the Workforce Report.

A keynote address by John Applegate, vice president for Strategic Impact for the Lumina Foundation, will be followed by breakout sessions targeted toward employers, educators, and youth providers, and will focus on preparing our youth effectively for college and careers after high school. The Summit is an initiative of NWIWB, ReadyNIW, One Region, and the Center of Workforce Innovations.

The cost is $20 and includes a continental breakfast. For information or to register, visit www.innovativeworkforce.com. For more information, call Barb Grimsgard at (219) 462-2940, ext. 28.
