VALPARAISO | Middle school and high school counselors and teachers can learn about the best career pathways for students at an event this week.

Ready NWI, a workforce training initiative, is putting on a career and technical education program at 3 p.m. Wednesday in ballrooms A and B at Harre Union at Valparaiso University, 1509 Chapel Drive. The professional development program for K-12 educators will last until 6:30 p.m.

Speakers include Purdue University North Central economics lecturer Anthony Sindone, Fleck Education Services consultant Matt Fleck, who is a nationally known in the college and career readiness field, and Linda Woloshansky, president and CEO of Workforce Innovations.

Subjects will include high-demand jobs and career training education programs. A panel discussion will focus on what jobs local employers offer, and what skills are needed to obtain them.

Dinner is included at the event.
