Continued confusion about the implementation and impact of the Affordable Care Act leaves unanswered questions about what the legislation, also known as Obamacare, means for the health care industry.

But it does not look good, said Gene Diamond, Franciscan Alliance Northern Indiana Region CEO.

"The impending arrival of Obamacare has filled us with more questions than answers," he said.

The industry is still creating technological advancements and making new discoveries, but the foundation of health care is feeling the impact of the question mark the legislation brings, Diamond said.

"Obamacare is shifting the ground under our feet," he said.

The uncertainty is driving employers to reexamine their health care expenses and find ways to shed costs, he said.
