The economy is getting a spring it its step and consumer confidence is returning as people see more new building projects around the region like the recently opened Porter Regional Hospital.
That is translating to increased business activity almost across the board, and local media are seeing a rebound in advertising segments that almost disappeared during the recession.
"Everyone in the last three years put projects on hold and now they are bringing them back to the table," said Leigh Ellis, president of Radio One Communications.
Radio One saw revenue growth of 13 percent in the third quarter as compared to the year-ago-quarter, with a strong rebound in auto and other advertising segments.
No matter who wins the U.S. presidential election, business people may hesitate to act for just a bit until they see more about the winner's plans for taxing and spending, Ellis said
