Governor's former political aide defends role in gas deal

In this April 12 email to Times reporter Keith Benman, Mark Lubbers responds to allegations he is using his political connections and 35-year friendship with Gov. Mitch Daniels to profit off the Indiana Gasification deal. He was Daniels' political director in 2005 and is now Indiana Gasification project manager for Leucadia National Corp., the developer of the project.
