Hubert Cross, of DeMotte, is the latest weekly winner of two club level tickets to a Chicago Blackhawks game. His name was drawn at Wiers Chevrolet-GMC-Cadillac, 416 Halleck in DeMotte.

Cross said he was surprised to be chosen as a winner as he has never won anything before. Not a big hockey fan, Cross gave his tickets to his son and nephew. Cross said they are “wild about the Blackhawks and huge fans who know everything about the team.”

Cross said he bought his current car at Wiers. He is happy with the dealership.

“I like the service department,” Cross said. “Bruce, the manager of the service department, I get along fine with him.”

Jim Terborg, Wiers President/CEO, said the promotion has been a great win-win proposition as it has attracted new faces to the participating dealerships enabling them to make new connections.

Each year the Northwest Indiana Chevy dealerships give their valued customers a chance to win a Chevy Cruze. This year they are doing more—each of the eight dealerships is drawing a lucky winner to receive two Chicago Blackhawks tickets. The game ticket drawings are being held one at a time ending this week. The final drawing for the Chevy Cruze will be May 1.

The Chevy Cruze is an upgrade from the previous Chevy Cobalt models. The Cruze is bigger with added luxury. The main appeal of the Cruze is the excellent gas mileage. It can get up to 46 MPG on the highway, an important feature as gas prices continue to rise. A great family sedan, the Cruze has a five star safety rating.

Terborg said Wiers, conveniently located just off I-65 about 25 minutes from Valparaiso, Merrillville and Crown Point, has been servicing and selling GM vehicles in DeMotte since 1956.

“We upgraded our facility, doubling its size and expanding the service department and adding new equipment to help provide an exceptional customer experience,” Terborg said. “In the service department there is a drive in now where customers can pull right in out of the elements. That is a great benefit.”

Terborg said Wiers is a one-stop shop for Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC vehicles.

“We have a very good reputation in the community and Northwest Indiana,” Terborg said. “We are big on doing everything the most ethical way and we pride ourselves on finding the right vehicle for our customers at the best price possible.”

In addition to Wiers Chevrolet, participating dealerships are: Smith Chevrolet of Hammond; Christenson Chevrolet; Arnell Chevy-Kia; Smith Chevrolet of Lowell; Mike Anderson Chevrolet; Team Chevrolet, and Harbor Chevrolet. You can still enter for a chance to win by visiting Your last chance to enter is at 5 p.m. April 26. One entry per person is permitted.
