David Vanderhere, of Valparaiso, is the latest winner of two club level tickets to a Chicago Blackhawks game. Vanderhere’s name was drawn at Arnell Chevy-Kia, 239 Melton Road in Burns Harbor.

Vanderhere said he was excited to use the tickets to take his 21-year-old son to his first Blackhawks game.

“And they won,” Vanderhere said.

Arnell Sales Manager Mike Miskus said Vanderhere came to the dealership to find a car for his mother.

“When we called him the day we pulled the winner, he actually had an appointment set up that Saturday to come in and bring his mom in to look at purchasing a vehicle,” Miskus said. “His mom was looking at a used car and had a couple of her children with her. They talked about it over the weekend. She actually came back and purchased a brand new car from us, which worked out really well.”

Each year the Northwest Indiana Chevy dealerships give their valued customers a chance to win a Chevy Cruze. This year they are doing more—each of the eight dealerships is drawing a lucky winner to receive two Chicago Blackhawks tickets. The drawings are being held one at a time for the next three weeks. The final drawing for the Chevy Cruze will be May 1.

Miskus said the internet has affected the way Arnell Chevrolet does business.

“Everyone goes online to look at pricing and wants a transparent experience and an easy process,” Miskus said. “Buying a car is hard enough to begin with. You don’t want to make it any harder. So we have done some things to make it transparent and easier for our customers.”

Miskus said Arnell Chevy-Kia has adopted a no haggle pricing system.

“We don’t give out the phony rebates like other dealers have done in the past,” Miskus said. “We have a price match guarantee to make sure that our customers know when they are purchasing from us they are getting a great deal.”

The Chevy Cruze is an upgrade from the previous Chevy Cobalt models. The Cruze is bigger with added luxury. The main appeal of the Cruze is the excellent gas mileage. It can get up to 46 MPG on the highway, an important feature as gas prices continue to rise. A great family sedan, the Cruze has a five star safety rating.

In addition to Arnell Chevy-Kia, participating dealerships are: Smith Chevrolet of Hammond, who drew the first week’s winner; Christenson Chevrolet; Harbor Chevrolet; Smith Chevrolet of Lowell; Mike Anderson Chevrolet; Team Chevrolet, and Wiers Chevrolet. You can still enter for a chance to win by visiting Your last chance to enter is at 5 p.m. April 26. One entry per person is permitted.
