If you are like me and had to drive through parts of the awful storm we had last weekend, I am sure you are about done with your vehicle for these winter months. I drive a Chevy Cobalt. Sure, in the summer months it's great, I get great gas mileage I have a nice sunroof, along with all the fun summer things a car can bring you. In the winter on the other hand, I have to drive with the fear of going off the road when we have these types of snowstorms. I am beyond ready to upgrade to an SUV or bigger.

The Toyota RAV4 would have been perfect to have on Sunday or Monday when we were running low on food and patience and just wanted to get out. With available all-wheel drive, stopping at those slick intersections, or even getting out of your driveway is made a lot easier.

Even though with the snow you would barely be able to see the outside of your RAV4, it is still worth talking about. describes the 2013 RAV4 as it, “captures the spirit of freedom that began with the original RAV4, yet breaks new ground in refinement, practicality and technology. With expressive styling and a roomy, comfortable interior, RAV4 is decidedly refined-but with agile handling and all-weather capability, it’s still ready for adventure whenever you are.” Toyota also took the traditional rear-mounted spare wheel of the back and moved it underneath the cargo so you can have a lift gate that opens up instead of out.

With the dual zone climate control, the driver and the front passenger can regulate your own environments with individual temperature control. To add to that happiness, the rear seats recline with the pull of a handle. Going back to the lift gate that opens up, you can stow up to 38.4 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seats upright. With the rear seats down you can stow up to 73.4 cubic feet of cargo. Also built in to the 2013 RAV4 is a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. This feature will warn you when a vehicle is detected. Available in the XLE or Limited models is an audio and navigation display to help you get where you are going safely.

The RAV4 comes in three different model choices, the LE, XLE, and the Limited. The prices start at about $24,000 and go up to about $28,000.
