When I think of Acura I think nothing less then luxury and performance. But on the other hand I think out of my price range. I’m sure many people think the same way, but this model will change all our minds. Acura makes a few models that are affordable, but today I want to focus on the 2014 Acura ILX. With the ILX you can keep the Acura classy look and keep some money in your wallet as well.
When you are seen in this car, people will be stopped in their tracks by the HID headlights and the signature Acura grille and their eyes will be drawn down the side of the car to the classic defined back.
Those envious people have no idea the amount of comfort and satisfaction you are feeling from the inside of the car. The front seats are ergonomically designed to provide the comfort and support needed even after a long journey. The seats feature leather trim and breathable perforated leather, with optional dual-level heaters, and 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat. The whole family can enjoy the comfort with the three-passenger back seat. They will enjoy plenty of legroom with a flat floor, even in the middle, and ample space under the front seats. Those seats also fold down to add to the 12.2 cubic feet of trunk space.
Moving back up to the control panel you find the dual-zone, automatic climate control system that allows the driver and front passenger to create their own microclimates. Plus, the optional GPS-linked Temperature Control will automatically change the temperature depending on how the sun is hitting your car. So if the driver is in the sun and the passenger is not, the car will make it slightly colder for the driver’s sake.
The dashboard is set up with the dual-cockpit design that is found in all Acura models. The center control panel includes a full array of controls that can be efficiently engaged by the simple push of a button. High in the center control panel is an 8-inch screen that has built-in AcuraLink communication system. With AcuraLink, you can navigate anywhere you would like to go, get restaurant reviews, access real-time weather, and answer text messages with the voice activation feature.
You are probably thinking that you don’t even need to leave your driveway to get a thrill in the ILX, but pushing the pedal to the floor and taking the sharp turns is well worth leaving the driveway. The ILX comes standard with a 2.0-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine to get up to 150-horse power. The engine is all aluminum so it improves front-to-rear weight distribution to improve handling and agility. To match the engine it comes with a 5-speed sequential sport shift automatic with paddle shifters.
The 2014 Acura ILX starts at about $27,000 and could get up to about $35,000. That highest price is for the hybrid models, the ILX non-hybrid with the premium package can get up to about $30,000.
