“During the ‘Great Recession’ with credit tightened, sales were impacted,” says Cyndy Springer, General Manager of Smith Chevrolet in Hammond. She says the loyal customers still came through, in no small part because of Smith Chevrolet’s well-respected service department.

With the average age of vehicles on the road hovering around 10.8 years, credit becoming more available, and Chevrolet promising 13 new models for 2013, sales should see a steady rise going forward. “We should see a rebound in sales over the next few years,” Cyndy says. “The Equinox has been a best seller the last few years, and the new 2013 Malibu is a hit.” Cyndy says Smith is really looking forward to the all-new redesigned Silverado and the new Impala coming in the spring.

“We have the best customers in the region,” Cyndy says. “Our philosophy is to treat everyone like family. We want the best possible buying experience.” The Smith Chevrolet Service Department and Body Shop provide fair, honest, quality workmanship at highly competitive prices. “We want to build lifetime customers,” Cyndy says. The proof of Smith Chevrolet’s dedication to their customers comes from the customers themselves. “Times readers have rewarded us as the best new car dealer for nine straight years,” she says.

Stellar customer service begins with the employees at Smith. Cyndy points out that every employee is considered a member of the Smith team.
