Former Gary/Chicago International Airport director Chris Curry has landed the top job at Florida's Tallahassee Regional Airport, where he will he will take over as executive director in January.
Curry will oversee an airport with four airlines, 53 employees and an annual budget of $9.8 million.
"This is an airport with a lot of potential that already has a good base of airlines," Curry said last week.
Curry was director of Gary/Chicago International Airport from July 2006 to his resignation in September 2010, when he took over as executive director of the Collier Airport Authority in Florida, managing the authority's three airports. He is leaving that post for the Tallahassee job.
Curry is a U.S. Air Force veteran, where he served as an air traffic controller. He was also employed by Jeppensen, a Boeing subsidiary, and was deputy director at the Gary airport before assuming the top job there.
