HAMMOND | Gary Public Transportation Corp. and Illinois-based PACE have made changes to create a transit corridor for bus transfers near the Strack & Van Til supermarket on Sibley Street.

Starting Monday, GPTC Route 12 Tri-City buses will terminate and transfer passengers at Morton Court, just west of the supermarket. PACE Route 350 and 364 buses will terminate between Willow Court and State Street, so passengers can walk from one bus to the other on Morton Court.

The move was necessitated by the shutdown of the Dan Rabin Transit Plaza, which is being abandoned by the Northwest Indiana Regional Bus Authority as it shuts down its easygo Lake Transit bus service.
