The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission is seeking public comments on a proposed amendment of the 2040 Comprehensive Regional Plan.

The amendment would add the widening of Ind. 312 in Hammond from the Illinois State Line to Calumet Avenue and would accelerate the Kennedy Avenue widening project in Schererville. That section of Ind. 312 runs on portions of Golstlin Street, Sheffield Avenue and Chicago Street.

The public comment period extends to Dec. 2.

Written comments on the proposed amendments can be sent to Hubert Morgan, NIRPC Public Involvement Coordinator, at 6100 Southport Road, Portage, IN 46368. Comments can also be sent by email at hmorgan@nirpc.org, or by phone at (219) 763-6060, ext. 153.
