Did you know that 98% of East Chicago’s older adults plan to spend the remainder of their older adult years in the city but only 11% believe it is a good place to grow old? Have ideas to change your city for the better? Come to an open discussion, hosted by Northwest Indiana Community Action (NWICA), the City of East Chicago and AARP Indiana, about what could make the city a better place to grow old. There will be morning conversation among participants about what would make aging in place in East Chicago a better life for them. The afternoon will be a series of speakers on things to do to stay in your home and be safe for as long as possible.Your input is important and valuable. Every idea brought up by any participant will be on the table for discussion.
