Area Boy Scouts Meet to Celebrate All That Is Scouting
Hundreds of Boy Scouts from North Central Indiana and Southwest Michigan will meet for a Scout-A-Palooza Camporee on May 17-19 at the St. Joseph County 4H Fairgrounds in South Bend. The public is invited to participate in all activities on Saturday. Starting at 9 a.m. May 18, the all-day schedule of events will include demonstrations of Scouting skills, merit badges, Scout and commercial exhibits, Human Foosball games, zip line rides, rope bridges, tomahawk throwing, BB gun and archery ranges, radio controlled aircraft, the Pinewood Derby race finals and open racing, blow-up obstacle courses, Ham radio, music and more. All of this is topped off by an evening show with live entertainment by Pyrotation Nation and David Fisher: The Rope Warrior, followed by fireworks. All Scouts and their families are encouraged to visit the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds on Saturday to join in all of the fun that is Scouting. There is a modest entry fee to cover the full day of events. Concessions stands are available for the purchase of food and drinks.
