"Acrylic Retrospective Review" by Albert J. Horvat will be offered at Crown Point Library. An artist reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. April 23. Light refreshments will be served. Horvat is a retired real estate agent and professional artist. He is the father of Karen Cox and grandfather of Lindsay Cox, both Crown Point High School art teachers. What sets Albert apart from most professional artists is his unique story. Fifteen years ago Albert suffered a stroke. He had to learn how to regain the use of his hands and refine his hand-eye coordination. All paintings on display are works he completed since his stroke. Horvat paints in acrylics and highlights his ability to pull detail from his research. He spends many hours completing a painting and it is not uncommon for him to spend 200 plus hours on a painting. The exhibit runs through April.
