Historical Society Speaker

Dyer Historical Society will host Ken Schoon, popular educator, historian, author, and speaker, as he presents his program entitled Duneland Dynamics.  Dr. Schoon will talk about colorful scenes of today's Indiana Dunes, describe their ecological importance, and tell stories of yesteryear.  Topics include:  fur trading and a French "fort", railroad expansion and Lincoln's Duneland funeral, hermits and developers, and heroic efforts to save the dunes.  The program will end with a book signing for his new book, "Dreams of Duneland."  Refreshments will be served.
