Five Famous African American Women Plus One: Passing the Torch

The Hammond Public Library, 564 State St., presents "Five Famous African-American Women Plus One: Passing the Torch. -The library will honor Mrs. Willie Mae Durr for her community involvement, including serving as a library trustee for 16 years, and as founder of the Laura Passmore Guild. She is also active in Hammond politics. Members of Salem Baptist Church Choir in Chicago perform musical selections. Following the tribute to Mrs. Durr, Rose Productions presents "Five Famous African American Women."
